In Memory of Colin Newcombe,
1934 - 2010

The Hertfordshire FA is saddened by the news that Colin
Newcombe, President and Board Member, passed away in Hospital on 23 February 2010.
Colin was a skilled accountant having gained the accreditation of Fellow Chartered
Accountant. It was these skills that led to Colin being appointed as the Hertfordshire
FA's Treasurer in 1989, a post that he went on to hold for 20 years.
During that period the Association became a limited company,
and Colin took up the position of Finance Director with a seat on the Board of Directors.
This season Colin took up the position of President of the Association in what was to be his
final year before retirement.
Away from the County FA, Colin was formerly a referee, and
held the position of Treasurer and Life Vice-President on the North and Mid Herts League.
This followed the amalgamation of the North Herts League with the Mid Herts League, on which
Colin had held the position of Secretary.
Our thoughts and sympathies are with Colin's family to whom
we send our sincere condolences.
